Irene (Bowers) Faulkner

Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mrs. Irene Bowers Faulkner, age 91, of Twin City, GA, on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at Resorts at Pooler.

Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, September 18, 2023 at 11:30 AM at the Twin City Methodist Church with Rev. Randall Smith officiating.

A private burial will be in the Old Canoochee Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

Born in Tennessee, Mrs. Faulkner was the daughter of Sam and Maude Bailey Bowers. She met her husband Mr. Alvie Faulkner in Tennessee and they were married when she was 16. They moved to Savannah in 1955 and then to Twin City in 1989. Irene was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker. She always cooked large Sunday dinners for her family with traditional southern menus and all the trimmings. Irene liked to garden as well. In addition to her parents, Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Alvie Faulkner and one sister, Jane Bowers Brown.

Survivors include:

Two Sons: Lee Faulkner (Doreen “Dino”) of Guyton, GA and Thomas Faulkner of Savannah, GA.

Five Grandchildren: Jodi Lee F. Floyd (Chris), Jamie Lynn F. Solaro (Chris), Stacy Lane F. Luno (Carlo), Marc Faulkner and Ryan Faulkner (Denise).

Four Great-Grandchildren and Two Nieces.
