Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mrs. Gloria Ann Hooks Youmans, age 84, of Swainsboro, GA on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at the Emanuel County Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2018, at 3:00 PM in Peebles –Curry Memorial Chapel with Rev. Clarence Thompson officiating, assisted by Elder Tommy Rountree.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in the New Hope Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers are: Michael Hooks, Ricky Hooks, Emmett Warren, Tim Bishop, Dale Hooks, Lavant Durden, Joe Mullis and Roger Youmans.
Honorary Escorts: Class of 1950.
Mrs. Youmans was born on August 19, 1933, in Lexsy, Emanuel County, GA, to the late Elsie Nixon and Hattie Mae Lanier Hooks. She was a Homemaker and a devoted wife and mother. She loved her family and was a caregiver to all. Mrs. Youmans was a member of New Hope Primitive Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Youmans was preceded in death by her husband, Billy J. Youmans; a sister, Veneta Hooks Crawford; two brothers, Elsie Quenton Hooks and Doyle Fredrick Hooks.

Two Daughters: Pam Edenfield (Smith) and Lisa Shaw (Marion) both of Swainsboro, GA
One Son: Billy “Kim” Youmans (Sheila) of Swainsboro, GA
Two Sisters: Melba Hooks Bishop (Gene) of Mobile, Alabama and Sylvia Hooks Durden of Swainsboro, GA
Four Grandchildren: Lauren Shaw McMillan (Mitch), Megan Shaw Smith (Clay), Jonathan Lanier Edenfield (Miranda) and Ashley Brooke Mace (Tim).
