Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Ms. Geraldine L. Claxton, age 69, of Swainsboro, GA, on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at Emanuel Medical Center.

Funeral services will be Saturday, December 15, 2018, at 11:00 AM in the Peebles-Curry Memorial Chapel with Elder Howard Rushing and Elder Tommy Rountree officiating.

Interment will follow in the Swainsboro City Cemetery with Elder Paul Thomas officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 5-7 PM.

Pallbearers are  Zachary Womack, Christopher Womack, Jeremy Claxton, Eddie Claxton, Josh Claxton and B. J. Claxton.

Ms. Claxton was born May 1, 1949 in Swainsboro, Emanuel County, GA to the late Eddie James and Mildred Overstreet Claxton.  She enjoyed riding her 4-wheeler, volunteering at the library, baby sitting and traveling. Ms. Claxton was a member of the United Primitive Baptist Church and in addition to her parents she was  preceded in death by two brothers, Eddie Gene Claxton and Franklin Claxton.

Survivors include:

Two Sisters: Patsy Fields (Gene) and Shirley Claxton all of Swainsboro, GA

Four Brothers: John R. Claxton (Brenda), Bobby Claxton (Melissa), Larry Claxton all of Swainsboro, GA and  Edward "Ed" Claxton (Elaine) of Nevils, GA.

Numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
