Gayla (Kersey) Douglas

Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mrs. Gayla Kersey Douglas, age 72, of Adrian, GA, on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at Scott Health and Rehab.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Peebles-Curry Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jim Harrell officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be in the Sardis Primitive Baptist Cemetery

Pallbearers are: Mark Lumley, Justin Coleman, Wes Douglas, Jason Douglas, Daniel Joiner, and Vince Alfonso.

Mrs. Douglas was born October 25, 1949 to the late Earl Cleo and Ruby Lee Rowland Kersey. She was an avid magazine reader and had stockpiles of Better Homes and Gardens magazines. Mrs. Douglas loved to sew, cross-stitch, and crochet. She adored her church and was a faithful member. Mrs. Douglas loved taking care of her family. She was predeceased by her parents.

Her Daughter: Deanne Douglas Joiner (Daniel) of Kite, GA

Her Son: Thomas Ashley Douglas (Valerie) of Adrian, GA

Her Sister: Glynis Kersey of Adrian, GA

Her Brother: Austin Earl Kersey of Adrian, GA

Grandchildren: Timothy Hunter Bell, Madison Mae Douglas, and Peyton Evans Douglas

Great-Grandchild: Brooklyn Lynette Bell
