Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mrs. Faye Youmans Rountree, age 75, of Twin City, GA on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at her residence.
Graveside services will be Friday, October 30, 2020 at 2:00 PM in the Coleman-Twin City Cemetery with Rev. Casey Shaw and Rev. Richard Barnard officiating.
The family will receive friends Friday at the cemetery from 1:00 PM until time of service.
CDC social distancing guidelines will be observed and masks are encouraged for your safety and the well being of others.
Mrs. Rountree was born May 3, 1945 in Swainsboro, Emanuel County, GA, to the late Thomas Reginald and Hattie Lou Raiford Youmans. She was a 1963 graduate from ECI (Emanuel County Institute, and obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Georgia Southern University in 1967. Mrs. Rountree was previously employed with the Department of Family and Children Services and retired from Emanuel County Board of Education where she taught 7th grade Science for 20 years. She loved the outdoors and spending time with her grandchildren, was a member of the Swainsboro First Baptist Church, Grace Sunday School Class, DAR, and enjoyed her book club and garden club. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Connie Lee; son-in-law, Benjie Thompson.

Daughter: Robin Rountree Thompson of Statesboro, GA
Son: John Benjamin Rountree (Patia) of Statesboro, GA
Sister: Joan Youmans Davis (Donald) of Swainsboro, GA
Grandchildren: Gracie Thompson, Cale Thompson, Ella Faith Rountree and Johnna Rountree.
Nieces, Nephews and extended family.
