Edmond "Rooster" Marsh, Sr.

Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mr. Edmond “Rooster” Marsh, Sr. age 63, of Kite, GA, on Saturday, January 16, 2021.

Funeral services will be conducted at Peebles-Curry Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Morris Brantley officiating and Rev. Billy Brinson assisting.

Interment will be in the Lamb’s Cemetery in Emanuel County.

Pallbearers will be Blake Marsh, James Marsh, Chuck Hendrix, Chase Marsh, Mitchell McMillan, Frank Woods, Jr. and Ben Faircloth.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening 5-7:00 PM at the funeral home.

CDC social distancing guidelines will be observed and masks are encouraged for your safety and the health and well being of others.

Born in Swainsboro, Georgia, Edmond was the son of the late Lula Bell Kersey and Edward Marsh, Sr. of Swainsboro, GA. Edmond retired from Evans Concrete in Metter, GA and continued with his own concrete business known as Henry and Marsh Concrete. He loved watching, “Gunsmoke”, fishing and playing pool. He enjoyed going to the dirt track races with his son.

Edmond was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, Carol Calhoun, Cheryl Brown, Eddie Dean Marsh and Celeste Marsh; three brothers, Edward “Pig” Marsh, Ray Marsh and Dennis “Dino” Marsh.

Survivors Include:

Daughters: E.B. Hambrick (P.J.) and Heather Marsh both of Swainsboro, GA.

Son: Edmond Marsh, Jr. (Brooke) of Swainsboro, GA. 

Step-Daughters: Tessa DeMatteo of Grand Turks, Caicos Islands and Misty Oglesby of Millen, GA.

Sisters: Joan Akridge (Lewis) of Stillmore, GA and Crystal Marsh (Earl) of Kite, GA.

Brothers: Buddy Marsh of Canoochee, GA, David Marsh (Janena) of Oak Park, GA, Kelvin Marsh (Stacie) of Kite, GA, and  Thomas Marsh (Denise) of Four Oaks, CA.

Six Grandchildren: Ella Hambrick, Blaze Morris, Brendlee Morris, Briar Marsh, Stella Marsh and Grayson Tucker Marsh.
