Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors, announces the death of Mrs. Doris J. Faircloth, age 96, of Swainsboro, GA on Monday, July 25, 2022, at the Emanuel Medical Center Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be private.
Mrs. Faircloth was born August 18, 1925, in Nunez, Emanuel County, GA, to the late Josh J. and Ida Webb Johns. She graduated from Lexsy High School and received a degree in cosmetology from Swainsboro Tech. Mrs. Faircloth was previously employed with Creston Knitting Mills, and retired after 18 years with George J. Meyers Co. She was very active, never one to be idle, she decided to return to work and spent many years as a sales clerk at Walmart in Swainsboro. Mrs. Faircloth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; her family was her greatest joy. She was a member of Church of Christ in Rincon, GA and in addition to her parents was preceded in death by her husband, Rollie D. Faircloth; infant daughter; 8 siblings; granddaughter, Melissa K. Cranford; and son-in-law, Doug Cranford.
Survivors include:
Daughter: Janice Faircloth of Grantville, GA.
Sons: Danny Faircloth (Susan Thompson) of Twin City, GA, Josh L. Faircloth of Grantville, GA, and Greg Faircloth (Debra) of Rincon, GA.
Sister: Frankalene Williams of Nashville, TN.
Granddaughter: Tonya Sanders.
Great-grandchildren: Joshua Sanders and Allison Mulkey (Shawn).
Four Great Great-grandchildren.
Special niece Gloria Ellison (Gene), and numerous extended family.
