Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mr. Donald “Donny” Evans Douglas, age 72, of Adrian, GA, on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at his residence.

Graveside services will be Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at 11:00 AM in the Sardis Primitive Baptist Cemetery with Rev. Joe Bedgood officiating.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at the funeral home from 9:30-10:30 and after the graveside service at the home of Thomas Douglas.

Pallbearers are Mark Lumley, Justin Coleman, Wes Douglas, Jason Douglas, Daniel Joiner, and Vince Alfonso.

Mr. Douglas, “Donny” was born February 19, 1950, in Swainsboro, Emanuel County, GA to the late James Ivey and Grace Wilson Douglas.  He was previously employed with Miami Carey; Buddy’s Truck Repair; Swainsboro Concrete and was a retired diesel mechanic from Iron Ax in Wadley, GA.  He enjoyed racing and wood working, and his greatest love was his family.  In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Gayla Kersey Douglas.

Survivors include:

Daughter: Deanne Douglas Joiner (Daniel) of Kite, GA

Son: Thomas Ashley Douglas of Adrian, GA

Sister: Nancy D. Lumley (Mark) of Swainsboro, GA

Brother: Charles Douglas (Geneva) of Metter, GA

Grandchildren: Timothy Hunter Bell (Alexis), Madison Mae Douglas, and Peyton Evans Douglas.

Great-Grandchild Brooklyn Lynette Bell, nieces, nephews and extended family.
