DeLoach (Johnson) Martin

Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mrs. DeLoach J. Martin, age 85 of Swainsboro, GA  on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Summer Willow Personal Care Home in Nunez, GA.

Funeral services will be Monday, May 20, 2019 in the Peebles-Curry Memorial Chapel at 3:00 PM with Rev. Franklin Sasser officiating.

Entombment will follow at Eastbrook Cemetery and Mausoleum.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, May 20, 2019 from 2:00 PM till time of service.

Pallbearers are Terry Bell, Malachi Lockett, Calvin Lockett, Chris Whitehead, Roy Lin Stroud and Penton Allen.

Honorary Escorts will be Summer Willow Residents and Staff and the Richard Holder F amily.

Mrs. Martin was born August 12, 1933 in Garfield, Emanuel County, GA to the late Taylor D. and Myra Gay Johnson.  She was owner of Martin's Grocery until 1995, loved fishing and shopping with a passion.  Being a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother spending time with her family was her greatest joy.  Mrs. Martin was a member of Garfield Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Charles A. Martin Sr.; son, Charles A. "Chuck" Martin Jr.; sister, Frances  Oxford and brother, Toby Gay Johnson.

Survivors include:

One Daughter: Chris Martin Bennett (Jerry) of Midville, GA

Two Grandchildren: Mandi Martin Brinson (Billy) and Chris Whitehead (Kristen).

Five Great-Grandchildren: Bentley Brinson, Blakely Brinson, Finley Brinson, Aidan whitehead and Cameran whitehead.

Daughter-In-Law: Renee I. Martin, nieces, nephews and extended family.
