Dan Bennett

Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mr. Dan Bennett, age 86, of Nunez, GA, on September 17, 2022, at the Emanuel Medical Center.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at 11:00 AM in the Peebles-Curry Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jim Harrell officiating.

Interment will follow in the Sardis Primitive Baptist Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Monday evening, September 19, 2022, from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Corey Riner, Beau Pritchard, Brock Pritchard, Beau Beasley, Caleb Brown, William Roberson, Justin Bennett and Andy Bedgood.

Mr. Bennett was born October 13, 1935, in Garfield, Emanuel County, GA, to the late Frank Bennett Sr. and Peggy Johnson Bennett. He was a farmer his entire life, and could plant the straightest rows in the county and beyond. However his greatest joy and accomplishment was his family; they lit up his life with just their presence. He was of the Baptist faith and in addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Martha Douglas Bennett; sisters, Fannie Merle Hall, Lucy Roberson, and Sally Hareb; brothers, Ernest “Buddy” Bennett, Earl Bennett, Leonard Bennett, Napoleon “Poke” Bennett, David Bennett, Frank “Bill” Bennett Jr., B. L. “Bozie” Bennett.

Survivors include:

Daughters: Pennie Bennett Riner (Charles) of Nunez, GA, Dana Bennett Kirby (Bruce) of Swainsboro, GA and Pamela Bennett Jones (Johnny) of Louisville, GA.

Son: Doug Bennett (Teah) of Nunez, GA

Sisters: Mary Barth of Warner Robins, GA and Peggy Ann Youmans of Stillmore, GA

Brother: Gene Bennett of Nunez, GA

Grandchildren: Lisa Riner Kight (Brandon), Corey Bennett Riner, Holly Kirby Beasley (Beau), Staci Kirby, Kelli Kirby, Beau Pritchard (Taylor), Brock Pritchard (Kirby), and Sara Cate Fennell.

Great-Grandchildren: Caleb Rhett Brown (Miranda), Braxton Beasley, Brant Beasley, Ayden Pritchard, and Ivy Pritchard.

Great Great-Grandchild: David Rhett Brown, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
