Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mrs. Christine Johnson Nasworthy, age 85, of Swainsboro, GA, on Tuesday, August 20, 2019, at Community Hospice in Vidalia, GA.
Funeral services will be Friday, August 23, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the Swainsboro First Baptist Church with Rev. Ray Jenkins officiating assisted by Rev. Casey Shaw.
Interment will follow in the Eastbrook Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Swainsboro First Baptist Church Friday morning from 10:00 AM till time of service.
Pallbearers are Dennis Duke, Bob Barfield, Bill Barfield, Don Gay, Tim Rich, Lester Brinson, Cliff Jones, Randall Ray and Bobby Sasser.

Mrs. Nasworthy was born March 17, 1934 in Herndon, GA to the late Major and Cora Bell Newton Johnson and was a graduate of Swainsboro High School. After 34 years she retired from the Georgia Department of Veterans Service and for the next 13 years was employed by Sheriff J. Tyson Stephens as his secretary. Mrs. Nasworthy was a member of the Swainsboro First Baptist Church, the Fidelis Sunday School Class and her joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Nasworthy Sr.; daughter, DiAnne Wasden; sisters, Shirley Murphy and Frankie Barfield; brothers, Cleveland Johnson and Kenneth Johnson

Son: Frank Nasworthy Jr. of Swainsboro, GA
Granddaughter: Alicia Wasden of Swainsboro, GA
Great-Grandsons: Weston Snell and Jacob Snell, several nieces, nephews and extended family.
