Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of  Mr. Charlie Alex Waller, age 85, of Alpharetta, GA, on Monday, September 30, 2019, at Brickmont Assisted Living in Milton, GA.

Funeral services will be Thursday, October 3, 2019 at 3:00 PM in the Peebles-Curry Memorial Chapel with Rev. Franklin Sasser officiating.

Interment will be private.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, October 3, 2019 from 2-3PM.

Pallbearers are Charlie Waller, Jim Willis, Richard Gilmer, Matt Thurman, Kyle Thurman and Chris Thurman.

Mr.  Waller was born August 14, 1934 to the late Ned Waller and Julia Johnson Waller Henry in Graymont, Emanuel County, GA. He was a 1952 graduate of Swainsboro High School and played on the Swainsboro High School State Championship Baseball team. Mr. Waller served in the US Air force during the Korean Conflict, and retired after 35 plus years from Delta Airlines. He enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandchildren watching them play sports. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Linda Thurman Waller; brothers, Jimmy Henry and Wright Henry.

Survivors include:

One Son: Alex Waller (Liz) of Milton, GA

Three Sisters: Dot Waller West of Swainsboro, GA, Donna Neal (Jimmy) of Twin City, GA, and Mary Alice Coleman of Swainsboro, GA

Three Brothers: Ned Waller of Fayetteville, GA, Cooper Henry (Zebe) of Twin City, GA, and Jeff Henry (Sharon) of Swainsboro, GA

Two Grandchildren: Sarah Beth Waller and Clayton Waller of Milton, GA

Nieces, nephews and extended family.
