Bonnette (Kersey) Rowland

Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mrs. Bonnette "Ma-Ma" Kersey Rowland, age 82, of Lyons, GA, who passed away on August 4, 2021 after an extended illness. 

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 6, 2021, at 11:00 AM in the Peebles-Curry Memorial Chapel with Elder Jerry Lightsey officiating.

Interment will follow in the Sardis Primitive Baptist Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends on Thursday evening at Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors from 5-7 PM. 

Pallbearers are Ira Coleman, Chris Rowland, Randy Rowland, Damon Winn, Matt Winn, and Brandon Wilkes. 

Bonnette was born in Emanuel County and lived in Lyons for the last several years.  She was a life-long member of the Old Line Primitive Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, making sweet pickles, quilting, going fishing and spoiling her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Stanley Rowland, Sr; father, Waldon Kersey; mother, Grace Kersey; and one brother, Leon Kersey. 

Survivors include:

 Four sons: Clyde Stanley Rowland, Jr of Lyons, GA; Mike Rowland (Kathy)of Adrian, GA; Danny Rowland (Shandra); and Bobby Rowland both of Lyons, GA.  

Six grandchildren: Randy Rowland (Starr); Chris Rowland (Barbara); Felicia Rowland; Lisa Winn (Damon); Evelyn Ninó (Jose); and Jake Rowland.  

13 great-grandchildren

Two sisters:  Laverne McNure (George) of Adrian, GA; and Martha Bargeron (Ray) of Kite, GA.

 A very special friend: Ann Rowland along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.  

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful staff at Oxley Park Health & Rehabilitation who cared for Bonnette the last few years of her life. 

 In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Oxley Park Activities Department, 181 Oxley Dr, Lyons, GA 30436.
