Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of  Mrs. Billie Lawson Scott, age 89, of Swainsboro, GA, on Friday, April 26, 2019, at Emanuel Medical Center Nursing Home.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Peebles-Curry Memorial Chapel with Rev. Clarence Thompson officiating.

The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Sunday, from 1:00 PM until time of service.

Interment will be in the Swainsboro City Cemetery with Rev. Ray Jenkins officiating.

Pallbearers: Greg Newsome, Noot Irvin, Joe Ware, Tracy Thompson, Eddie Lewis, and Ashley Riner.

Mrs. Scott was born April 23, 1930 in Swainsboro, Emanuel County, GA to the late James Silas and Nettie Hicks Lawson. She was a bookkeeper, a member and Former Trustee of Ebenezer United Methodist Church. She loved gardening, fishing, cooking and playing cards, especially Canasta. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry W. Scott.

One Daughter: Harriett S. Lawson of Swainsboro, GA

One Sister: Peggy L. Thompson of Swainsboro, GA

Special Niece: Jan T. Palmer (Kendall) of Vidalia, GA

Great Niece: Janna E. Palmer of Vidalia, GA

Extended Family, Nieces, Nephews, and Friends
