Betty (Padgett) Price

Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mrs. Betty Price, age 83, of Swainsboro, GA, on Thursday, March 28, 2019, at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro, GA.

Funeral Services will be Sunday, March 31, 2019 at 2:00 PM in the Hillcrest Baptist Church with Rev. Josh Black officiating.

Interment will follow in the Blundale Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Shannon Boula officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 5-7PM.

Mrs. Price will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service.

Pallbearers are  Al Flanders, Michael Wells, Randy Smith, James Smith, Marty Smith, Butch Taylor, and Chucky Ansley.

Honorary Escorts will be Join Hands Sunday School Class, Hillcrest Church Choir and residents and staff of Church Street Manor.

Mrs. Price was born July 24, 1935 in Swainsboro, Emanuel County, GA  to the late James H. and Ouida Farrow Padgett, was a homemaker and retired from Piggly Wiggly as manager of the Bakery Deli. She was an avid baker and caterer, loved fishing and gardening. Mrs. Price was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, Join Hands Sunday School Class, WMU (Women's Missionary Union) and served on numerous other committees. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Verlon H. Price and sister, Linda Mauldin.

Survivors include:

Two Daughters: Diane Claxton (Willis) of Glennville, GA and Starr Peebles (Jeffrey) of Swainsboro, GA

Two Sons: Jimmy Sherrod of Midville, GA  and Ricky Price of Columbia, SC

Eleven Grandchildren: Amber Claxton Durrence (Jamey), Will Claxton (Bonnie), Adam Price, Alicia Price, Elijah Peebles (LeeAnna), Elayah Peebles Mosley (Richard), Norman Sherrod (Angie), Chris Sherrod, Crystal Sherrod Foskey (Rick), Jason Sherrod,  and Dillion Sherrod.

Two Step-Grandchildren: Lindsey Plemmons and Nicole Martin.

Twenty Great-Grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family.
