Annie "Betty" Elizabeth (Parnell) Lewis

Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mrs. Annie Elizabeth “Betty” Lewis, age 74, of Metter, GA, on Friday, August 27, 2021, at Community Hospice in Vidalia, GA.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, August 29, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel with Rev. Bo Fulginiti officiating.

Visitation will be two hours prior to the service.

Burial will be in the Primitive Grove Church Cemetery just outside of Metter.

Pallbearers will be Brady Beshore, Jamey Ellis, Michael Cliett, Jeremy Sutton, Brian Moseley and Logan Espinoza.

“Betty” was born to Leroy and Cecil Mae Parnell in Lake City, South Carolina. During her working years, Betty worked as a secretary for a hospital emergency room and she also worked for Department of Health and Environmental Control in South Carolina. She loved being a caregiver, spending time with family and she enjoyed her pet cats. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Bobby Newberry and Jeff Lewis, a sister, Elaine Truluck and two brothers, Hoyt and Wesley Parnell.

Survivors:

Daughters: Holly N. Aldrich (Keith) of Metter, GA and Kathy Norton (Tommy) of Atlanta, GA.

Son: Tracy Lewis of Atlanta, GA.

Grandchildren: Cannon and Cameron Aldrich, Glencora King, Lorinda N. Dechman and Benjamin Norton and Ann Marie Brothers.

Many nieces and nephews, including Matthew Parnell and Melissa D’Aurio and a host of extended family.
