Annette was born June 16th, 1927 in Emanuel County to Harvey and Amy Moxley Woods. She graduated from Darien High School, Darien, GA in 1944. She married Bernard Scott of Swainsboro, GA, in 1951. She and Bernard lived in Brunswick, GA and Swainsboro, GA for several years, settling in Swainsboro in 1960 where she began working for Sears, Roebuck as a sales clerk. After the loss of her first husband in 1970, she married Ray Thompson in 1972. Annette continued to work at Sears, Roebuck and retired from there in 1982, then later worked at Stewart’s Jewelers until retiring fully.
Annette was a member of Calvary Methodist Church of Swainsboro, GA and First Methodist Church of Swainsboro, GA., and she loved her church family. An avid reader, she continued to enjoy her books while at the nursing home.
Family was very important to Annette. She started by raising two precocious boys to young men. After meeting Ray Thompson they formed a new family. Annette and Ray went on to nurture a second generation with their much loved grandchildren. Annette was excited last Christmas to meet her new great-grandsons Ben and Elliott and to give a hug to her great granddaughter Lucy. Annette was preceded in death by her first husband Bernard Scott, her son Jimmy Scott, and second husband William Ray Thompson, Sr.
