Amy Lauree Morris Whitaker

Amy Lauree Morris Whitaker, 54, passed away at her residence on Thursday, May 8, 2025.

Amy loved her family and especially loved being a GiGi to her four grandchildren. She faithfully followed the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves. Amy enjoyed making the holidays special and spending time with her loved ones. Whether it be baking or arranging flowers, Amy always had an eye for detail.  She enjoyed fashion and makeup and was always dressed to a T.

Amy was preceded by her father, Jerry Gene Morris, Sr.

Amy is survived by her daughter, Hannah Whitaker and her boyfriend, Dylan Brown, her son, Hunter (Tori) Whitaker, all of LaGrange, her mother and step-father, Sue and Alfred Ellisor, Jr. of Savannah, brother, Jerry Gene (Susie) Morris, Jr. of Charlotte, NC, grandchildren, Parker Smith, River Whitaker, Sadie Whitaker, and Weston Brown, all of LaGrange, her aunt, Jan Cook of Swainsboro, and great aunts, Ann Peebles, Martha (Charles) Flanders all of Swainsboro.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 12, 2025 at 2:00pm at Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors with Rev. Curt Grimm officiating.

The family will receive friends at 1:00 pm until time of service.

Interment will follow in Corinth Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Dockery, Ryan Kersey, Danton Morris, Rhett Dorsey, Wes Snellgrove, and John Kersey.
