Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mrs. Alma M. Neal, age 90, of Kite, GA, on Monday, July 23, 2018, at Serenity Place in Dublin, GA.
Celebration of Life and Home Going Services will be held Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at 11:00 AM in Kite First Baptist Church with Rev. Arthur Conley officiating assisted by Rev. Allen Meeks.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 5-7 PM.
Interment will follow in Kite City Cemetery.
Mrs. Neal will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service.
Pallbearers are: Kite Volunteer Fire Dept.
Mrs. Neal was born on March 15, 1928 in Kite, Johnson County, GA, to the late Pink M. D. Morris and Maggie O. Edwards Morris Braddy, was a 1946 graduate of Kite High School, and was Alumni Secretary for Classes 1946, 1947 and 1948. A devoted Christian, Mrs. Neal was a long time member of Faith Baptist Church, where she served in numerous capacities through the years. She was cafeteria manager for the Kite High School for many years, was an accomplished seamstress, awesome cook, and loved fishing. Even in her later years, was an avid and active sports enthusiast, attending many baseball and ice hockey games, and celebrated her 90th birthday at Wild Adventures. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Auford E. Neal, Sr.; son, Donald Neal; five sisters, Florence Mayo, Ruby Miles, Eva Dell Morris, Mary Morris and Martha Morris; four brothers, Harrison Morris, Martis Morris, J. D. Morris and Jesse Morris.
Survivors include:
One Son: Auford E. Neal Jr. (Christi) of Charlotte, NC
Four Grandchildren: Charlotte Neal, James Michael Neal (Heather), Jeffery Donald Neal, Richard Kevin Neal (Jamie)
Two Great-Grandchildren: Meredith and Katherine Neal, nieces, nephews and extended family.
