Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of  Mrs. Imogene S. Riner, age 87, of Swainsboro, GA, on Tuesday, November 10, 2020, at Emanuel Medical Center Nursing Home.

Graveside services will be Saturday, November 14, 2020, at 3:00 PM in the Swainsboro City Cemetery with Rev. Tanner Turley officiating, assisted by Rev. Casey Shaw

The family will receive friends at the cemetery from 2:00 PM till time of Service.

CDC social distancing guidelines will be observed and masks are encouraged for your safety and the well being of others.

Pallbearers are Bobby Mason, Ashley Riner, Len Johnson, Jeff Riner, Joe Riner, Grayson Riner, Eric Hammock, Jamie Oglesby and Randy Riner.

Honorary Escorts will be the Agape Sunday School Class.

Mrs. Riner was born October 23, 1933, in Swainsboro, Emanuel County, GA, to the late Lonnie and Mary Hall Smith and  graduated  Valedictorian of her  Class from Swainsboro High School.  She was a member of the Swainsboro First Baptist Church and the Agape Sunday School Class.  Mrs. Riner was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She enjoyed being outdoors, growing fruits and vegetables, canning that food for her family , and taking care of the many flowers she grew. Mrs. Riner gladly shared her blueberries and pecans with family members and friends.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Frank Riner; sisters, Ruth Hunter, Louise McKamey, and Jemira Lyerla; brothers, J.W. Hammock, Ernest Hammock, and Harry Hammock; sons-in-law, Lee Butler and Joey Harris.

Survivors Include:

Daughters: Judy Riner Butler (Joe Blankenbaker) of Waynesboro, GA, and Beverly Riner Harris of Thomasville, GA.

Son: Richard Riner (Kim) of Statesboro, GA.

Sisters: Demaris Gay of Augusta, GA and Sallie Plaspohl of Pooler, GA.

Sister-In-Law: Emily Mason of Swainsboro, GA.

Brother-In-Law: Hollis Riner of Dublin, GA.

Grandchildren: Kimberly Nix (Kealon), Marsha Turley (Tanner), Olivia Riner, and Alannah Riner

Great-Grandchildren: Harris Nix, Kate Nix, Parker Turley, Kesed Turley, Jordyn Turley, and Titus Turley

So sorry to hear this sad news. She was a special lady, always friendly and loving to every one. Seems as if we are losing all the good ones. God Bless the family at this time.

I will miss Ms. Imogene. She enjoyed seeing pictures Ms Judy would send and she always had great things to say about the whole family. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. God bless you all and he will help you get thru these hard times. love and prayers Judy

What a sweet soul we've lost! Ms. Imogene was always a joy to chat with at family functions. I'm going to miss her smiling face! Much love to Rich, Kim, Alannah and Olivia and all their extended family.
