Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mrs. Annie Lou Jeffers Brown, 95, of Twin City, GA, on Monday, February 03, 2020 at Emanuel Medical Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 05, 2020 at 3:00pm at Peebles, Curry Memorial Chapel with Rev. Franklin Sasser officiating.

Visitation will be from 2:00-3:00pm on Wednesday, February 05, 2020 at Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors, Peebles-Curry Memorial Chapel.

Interment will be in the Friendship Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Twin City, GA.

Pallbearers are Jerry Hall, Charles Woods, David Ellington, Michael Ellington, Ricky Braddy and Andy Walden.

Mrs. Brown, born on June 26, 1924, was an only child to the late Willie and Elizabeth Jeffers Parrish and lived her whole life in Emanuel County. She worked at Twin City Manufacturing for fifteen years and also was a babysitter. She attended the Friendship Freewill  Baptist Church in Twin City. Mrs. Brown loved working in her yards and tending to her goats. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nathan E. Brown, three daughters; Blanche B. Gainey, Paulene Bowen, and Gloria Hadden; three sons, Bud, Kenneth and Herman Brown.  

Survivors include:

Daughters: Dorothy Portward, Hazel Donaldson, Lottie Ellington and Jeanette Portwood all of Twin City, GA.

Many Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren.

Iam so sorry to hear about granny's passing she was a wonderful and great woman she use to keep me when I was younger and then she kept my kids to when they were little I have so many wonderful memories with granny she was like a grandma to me thought of my mom as a daughter and me like a grand daughter to her and my kids like her grand kids I can remember like it was yesterday all the good old times sitting on the porch rocking in the rocking chair and mom and granny talking about the good old days and when they worked at the shirt factory and all the trips to town I could go on and on but I am so sorry for the family loss and Malissa I here girl if you need someone to talk to to cry with iam here RIP Granny Brown we love you go rest high on the mountain you have done your work here on earth now it is time for you to celebrate in heaven with your loved ones and family and friends that have gone on before you in heaven you are whole and healed and no pain tell mom if you see her that I said hey and that I love her and miss her .
