Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mr. Walter Greenway, 95, of Swainsboro, GA, on Sunday, November 24, 2019 at Community Hospice in Vidalia, GA.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at 2:00 PM in the Peebles-Curry Memorial Chapel with Rev. Ray Jenkins officiating.

Entombment will follow at Eastbrook Mausoleum and Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home two hours prior to the service time.

Pallbearers are Ray Bargeron, Tim Bergeron, Lynward Hooks, Kelvin Turner, David Walker and R. W. Hooks.

Honorary Pallbearers are Members of the Lake Luck Civic Club

Mr. Greenway was born March 23, 1924 in Twin City, Emanuel County, GA to the late Thomas Frank and Hattie Joiner Greenway. In his younger years he farmed. He was an Insurance Clerk and Funeral Director assistant at Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors for over 30 years. He loved fishing and was an avid Braves Fan. He was a member of the Swainsboro First Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by five brothers, Edward Greenway, Troy Greenway, Fed Greenway, Rufus Greenway, Warren Greenway and two sisters, Louise Bishop and Jeanette Bargeron.

His Wife of 76 years: Clairena B. Greenway of Swainsboro, GA

His Daughter: Maxie Anne Keidel of Swainsboro, GA

His Sisters: Marie Coglin of Twin City, GA and Norma Hooks of Swainsboro, GA

His Grandaughter: Terrie A. Walker (David) of St. Marys, GA

His Great-Grandchildren: Zan Leakway, Sloane Walker, Adrian Walker, Lauren Walker, and Ryan Walker.
