Master Sergeant Wyley Cowart, USAF Retired, age 88, of Lawrenceville, GA passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2019. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Carolyn; son, Keith (Donna ) Cowart; daughter, Becky (Perry) Barnhouse; grandchildren, Adam Cowart and Sydney (Spencer) Williams; brothers, John (Joyce) Cowart and Joseph (Peggy) Cowart; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and 5 brothers.

Wyley proudly served his country in the US Air Force for 24 years, where he earned the rank of Master Sergeant. In 1974 he started Cowart Insurance Agency and operated it until he retired in 1992. He was born in Garfield, GA on October 20, 1930 to Harry and Sara Hall Cowart. Wyley taught Sunday school most of his life at several church including Hebron Baptist Church and participated in numerous mission trips.

A funeral service honoring the life of Wyley will be held on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Hebron Baptist Church in Dacula, GA with Rev. Derek Spain officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 26th from 2pm-5pm at Tom M. Wages Lawrenceville Chapel.
A local Funeral Service will be held Monday, January 28th at 11:00 AM in Hebron Primitive Baptist Church in Garfield, GA, with Elder Sam Bowen officiating. Interment following in the Hebron Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Garfield, GA. Mr. Cowart will lie in state one hour prior to services. 
Those desiring may make memorial donations to Hebron Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery Fund in c/o John W. Cowart.
