As the sun rose on Monday, January 14, Charlotte Parrish slipped quietly from this world to join her mother, Alia, and father, William “Ski” Czarneski, to rest in the presence of her heavenly Father.  Charlotte leaves behind her beloved husband, Representative Larry J. “Butch” Parrish; her daughter, Cathy; son-in-law, Doyte; and her grandchildren, Courtney and Tyler, who are forever grateful to have been the center of her universe. She was a loving sister to Vicki and Bill, a friend to her step children Lynn and Randy and their families, and she adored her many nieces and nephews.

Charlotte Frances Parrish was born in Columbus, Georgia and, because her father served in the Army, had the good fortune to live in many places including Germany, Massachusetts , Kentucky, and finally Cookeville, Tennessee. She was an alumna of the College of Charleston, and in her busy life had several careers. She was a mortgage banker, a realtor, and ultimately retired as a budget analyst for the Prosecuting Attorneys Council. Charlotte was always an achiever. She expected nothing but the best from herself and others and was adept at bringing it out in others.

Her passion, other than doting on her grandchildren, was showing her precious Yorkshire Terriers. Over the years, she had several Grand Champions and others that just wanted to chase squirrels and bark at the herons on the dock of the lake house she and Butch called their “Quiet Place”.

No matter how busy her life, Charlotte always had time for her friends. She never forgot a birthday or anniversary. Her grandchildren learned early on not to bother writing Santa as it was more lucrative to send Grandmother a text complete with a corresponding website to make ordering easier. To Charlotte, Christmas was a year- long event that only culminated on December 25.

Charlotte had an uncanny knack to remember just about everything she’d ever seen or heard. One never needed a GPS if Charlotte was in the car - especially if she was in the back seat. She was a feminist before it was a catch phrase. To her, feminism meant being self-sufficient, and that she was.

Her family and friends will remember her beautiful silver mane, her warm smile, and her hearty laugh. Nor will they ever forget her famous “eye roll” and her finger just under your nose when she was making her point. Charlotte was bigger than life, and her absence will leave an enormous hole in the lives of all who knew her.

Funeral services for Mrs. Parrish will be held on Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at 3:00 PM, at Swainsboro First United Methodist Church with Rev. David Unkles officiating.

The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday, January 16, 2019, from 1:00 until 3:00 PM.

Interment will be held in the Swainsboro City Cemetery.

Pallbearers include:  Keith Stevens, Jim Williams, Jim Sanders, Wesley Dunn, Trey Miller and Drew Miller.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Emanuel County Animal Shelter, 343 Market Street, Swainsboro, GA 30401, or to the charity of your choice.

Dear Mr. Butch:

Words cannot express how special Mrs. Charlotte was to me. As you know, she was very influential and empowering in my life and played a key role in pushing me to finish college and for that I am forever grateful. She always had a kind word to uplift everyone's spirit and had a special way of making other's feel good about themselves. The world has lost a very precious and special soul but we have gained an angel that will always watch over us. I am very saddened by her passing, but I know that she is no longer in pain. Please accept my most heart felt and deepest sympathy. I hope the time brings you all peace and comfort.

With Love,
Tessa and Matt

My deepest condolences to all of Charlotte's loved ones. I worked for and with her at the Prosecuting Atty's Council. She is gone too soon, but, in a better place.

May God rest her soul.
