Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mrs. Carolyn Grimes Bishop, age 74, of Twin City, GA, on Friday, April 14, 2017 at her residence.

Funeral services will be Monday, April 17, 2017 at 2 PM in the Twin City First Baptist Church with Rev. Max Rodgers officiating.

Interment will follow in the Coleman Cemetery in Twin City, GA

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 6-8 PM

Pallbearers are Cade Lee, Joshua Bailey, Lucas Bailey, Clayton Drake, Charlie Drake and David Bailey.

Mrs. Bishop was born in Metter, GA to the late Carl and Marie Brown Grimes. Carolyn was a beautician and owned/operated Carolyn’s Style Shoppe for many years, was a seamstress, floral designer, cake decorator, and owned/operated the Ceramic Playhouse. Mrs. Bishop was a lifetime member of Twin City First Baptist Church, and was a Sunday School Teacher for 32 years. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and spending time with family and friends. Carolyn was a loving Mother, Sister, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Friend. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Charlie Bishop Jr., and brother, Wayne Grimes.

Survivors include:

Four Daughters: Diane Lee (Dwain) of Garfield, GA, Cheri Drake (Alan) of Swainsboro, GA, Gail Bailey (James) of Seale, AL and Sally Thompson (Trevor) of Rio Vista, CA

Six Sisters: Mary Joyce Aleff, Ann White, Willene Breedlove, Jean Bruner, Ruth Newton, and Barbara Gay.

One Brother: Wendell Grimes

Twelve Grandchildren: Cade Lee, Johnna Johnson, Michelle Wilson, Clayton Drake, Charlie Drake, Lessi Johnson, Joshua Bailey, Amanda Douglass, Lucas Bailey, David Bailey, Cassandra Bishop, and Brandon Bishop.

Eight Great-Grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
