Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mr. Ray Wilcher, age 75 of Midville, GA on Wednesday, April 6, 2016.

 

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 9, 2016 at 2 PM in the Hines Baptist Church, Midville GA with Rev. Randy Walden officiating and Rev. Billy Brinson assisting.

 

Interment will follow in the Hines Baptist Church Cemetery.

 

Visitation will be in the Hines Baptist Church on Friday evening from 6-8 PM.

 

Pallbearers are Dakota Marsh, Jospeh Wilcher, Jason Wilcher, Jeremy Wilcher, Daniel Coleman, and Jimmy Lee.

 

Honorary Pallbearer is Gene Fields

 

Mr. Wilcher was born in Swainsboro, GA, to the late Almon and Gladys McCullough Wilcher. He drove a truck for Clements Trucking for 15 years before he retired, and was a member and deacon of Hines Baptist Church in Midville, GA. Ray loved helping anyone in need, gardening, syrup making, and spending time with his family. He is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Martha Polly Wilcher and a brother, M.L. Wilcher.

 

Survivors include:

 

One Daughter: Tammy Marsh of Jacksonville, FL

 

Three Sons: Charles Wilcher (Ronda) of Canoochee, GA, Steven Ray Wilcher of Midville, GA, and David Cullen (DeMaris) of St. Marys, GA

 

Six Sisters: Maxie Booker, Bernice Boyd Brigdon, Betty Wells, Neda Holland, Christine Moore, and Patsy Haycraft.

 

One Brother in Law: Roy Hadden

 

Nine Grandchildren, Twenty-Two Great-Grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family
