Allen was such a great person and working with him at camp for 2 summers was beyond amazing. He was so encouraging and helpful and always had a positive attitude. The kids that got to have him as a counselor were more blessed than those of us who were able to work with him because he loved them so! Praying for your family through this difficult time.

Allen was a Collegiate 4-Her from UGA during my time as advisor to Middle Ga College Collegiate 4-H. We attended several National Conferences with him. He was a ray of sunshine, enthusiasm and encouragement for the youth in our organization. He affected the lives of 4-Hers nationally. He was respected and adored by all who knew him. I recall riding the elevator with him at State Congress and telling him who much I admired him. Allen, you will be missed.

Dear Allen's Family,
Wanted to let you know that the loss of Allen is felt beyond Georgia, but by so many who were fortunate to get to know him through his involvement in our national 4-H professional organization, NAE4-HA. Allen and I worked closely together for three years on the Camping and Environmental Education Task Force as Chairs and Co-Chairs. His attention to detail, his willingness to help and ideas were some of what made him a leader. More importantly, was his warm personality, his laugh and his smile. I will miss seeing him at our annual meetings and national camping events. He was an amazing young man who made a difference for others. It was a gift to have known him. Peace be with you and your family.
Sincerely,

He added so much to the taskforce and therefore added so much to 4-H on a national level. He was kind, forward thinking, organized and you could tell that the good of 4-H and Camping was truly in his heart. We are thinking of you all. His loss is being felt around the country.

I had the pleasure of getting to know Allen this past summer while spending a few days at Camp Fortson with Antioch Christian Church. During those three days, I was so impressed and inspired by watching Allen spend his days working hard, being so gracious with the staff and welcoming to the camp guests, and interacting with the kids who loved and appreciated him wholeheartedly. He left such an impression on me, and it was so clear that he was a man of faith and strong values who was loved by so many. I am incredibly saddened and heart broken for you, please know that you will remain in my prayers. May the Lord comfort you always.

I did not know Charles but his accomplishments stand for so much. I work with Cobb County Extension and we received the news Monday and the staff members who had been with him over the weekend prior to his passing were so heartbroken. I have a daughter that is following the path that he has laid for the future. Because of his dedicated work, she will see and experience so much more. She plans to go into the agriculture field of work after high school. She started her journey at ABAC for a summer workshop and has not looked back. She hopes to attend UGA this summer as part of the Young Scholars Program. He will not be forgotten. I am so sorry and I will pray for your healing and peace.

Though my time working with Extension was short, I always loved going to Camp Fortson. We would use the camp for weekend trips to Atlanta and my family has even used it personally when in the Atlanta area... Allen Nasworthy was the reason why! He took a rock and turned it into a diamond! He built a program that touched many lives, both children and adults. He lived an incredible life that always put others first. I enjoyed my time knowing Allen! He left Georgia 4-H better than when he found it! My heart felt condolences go out to the Nasworthy family and others who are going though this, you are not alone. Georgia 4-H is a family and will be here for you all.

Allen was a wonderful young man and will be truly missed by anyone blessed to have known him. I remember when he decided to follow his FFA teacher's footsteps and pursue Ag Education. There is no mistake it was his calling in life to share his contagious personality with young kids. They will all be better adults to have known him. I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;

they comfort me.

To Allen's Family: Our thoughts and prayers are with you every minute. My parents (Rowan Family) were one of the founding directors of Camp Fortson. I grew up out there my whole life working and volunteering. When Allen came on as Director he worked hard--day and night--and made Camp Fortson what it is today. The best 4-H Camp in the State of GA! He gave it all for the staff, counselors, and loved his animals. Every time we would go there he had to show us his latest animal and what they could do, or collect eggs for us to take home. His love for camp and people was so real. We loved him so much and appreciate everything he did for 4-H and the community. We are so sad for the loss of his life....and know.my family will keep uplifting your family in prayer. I am also so glad that Allen and Katie were great friends and had each other to talk to! He made a huge impact on her life as well! Love you all.

Allen,
Thank you so much for showing me that no matter what my life brings in the future that I will always have my 4-H family to fall back on! You truly impacted my life in a way that changed who I am. I will always remember being at camp and the turkey escaped the farm animal. I'll never forget the look I gave you when you told me we had to put it back in the fence so it wouldn't disturb any activities going on throughout camp. It took me a minute to figure out you were serious. Even though you may be gone from Fortson 4-H Center, the impact you made will always remind every camper and visitor that you are still there with us!
This is not my final goodbye, but my way of saying I'll see you later.

It has taken me weeks to come up with the words and I am sure they may not even be here still, but, I wanted to reach out and say how much I loved Allen and his amazing heart. He was one of the most caring and loving people I have ever met. His positive and fun attitude is what brought us together as friends. From having a ton of fun working at Western National Roundup to visiting him in GA to long chats on the phone, I remember my friend. I have found comfort in 2 Timothy 1:10. I am looking forward to seeing Allen again! Sending all of you love and strength.
