Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mrs. Jerri C. Walker, age 74, of Swainsboro, GA on Monday, November 9, 2015 at Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia, GA.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at 11:00AM in Emanuel Christian Ministries with Rev. Brad McKenzie officiating, assisted by Rev. Bunny Hudson.

Interment will follow in the Eastbrook Cemetery officiated by Elder Tommy Rountree.

The family will receive friends, at the funeral home Tuesday, November 10, 2015 from 5-7 PM.

Mrs. Walker will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service.

Pallbearers are Frank Canady, Wylie Rabitsch, William "Bill" Boyd, Justin Boyd, Ashley Hooks and Tim Coleman.

Mrs. Walker was born in Canoochee, GA, May 24, 1941 to the late James  Benjamin and Faeria Proctor Canady.  After retirement from Argo Mills as a Sewing Machine operator she was employed for many years at Wal-Mart of Swainsboro.  Mrs. Walker was a member of Emanuel Christian Ministries and was preceded in death by two sisters, Sara Rabitsch and Martha Ann Lee; and two brothers, Howard Canady and Richard Canady.

Survivors include:

Her Husband of 37 years: Bobby Walker of Swainsboro, GA

Four Daughters: Cynthia K. Hill of Swainsboro, GA, Melanie Powell of Vidalia, GA, Teresa Newsome (Ronnie) of Blundale, GA and Tammy Donaldson (Lew) of Twin City, GA

One Step-Son: Mike Walker (Kelly) of Evans, GA

One Sister: Joyce Wiggins of Millen, GA

One Brother: "Pete" Lavan Canady (Johnnie) of Swainsboro, GA

Eight Grandchildren: Carla Foots, Crystal Wilson,  Magen McLendon, Kristen Powell, Joey Newsome (Heather), Mandy Kettles (Lincoln), Erica "Nikki" Smith, and Eric Warren (Valerie)

Three Step-Grandchildren: Zach Walker, Kristen Walker and Shane Walker.

17 Great-Grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and extended family.

Our hearts go out to all of you during this time. She was such a hard working friendly lady.She will be missed so much and I know that they are never enough works to express how sweet she was. May God be with all of you as you try to cope with being without her. I know that it will be hard for all of you but God knows what was best for her. She is now in a good place with no more pain and suffering. May he Bless you all.

So sorry to hear about Ms. Jerri. Mom and Dad (Sam & Louise Garcia) always though alot of her. We remember when we lived close by in town by the rec department. Our prayers are with all of you in the days ahead.

Teresa and Ronnie, I know you will miss her. Never had the privilege to meet her, but you can tell by her smile she is a loving and caring person that loves the Lord and her family and friends. My prays and thoughts are with you and your family.

To you Teresa and the rest of your family as well. I want to say that Im so sorry to hear of your loss. Ive been in prayer and standing in the faith for miracles for your mom and although she didnt receive it in the natural and even though shes gone in the natural, she has received a miracle as she is NOW WITH THE LORD !! I pray for you to be able to find some peace in knowing that . I pray for God to wrap you up in his loving arms and bring you strength and peace that can only be given from him and in the days ahead as well. My thoughts and prayers are with you sweet friend. My heart and prayers goes out to each of each. Your mom always welcome we into yall home with open arms as we were growing up. We had lots of great memories. I will continue to pray for each of each. love you all.
