Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mrs. Martha Wilcher, age 70, of Midville, GA on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at her residence after an extended illness.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at 1:00 PM in the Hines Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Walden officiating, assisted by Rev. Hal Wilson.

Interment will be in the  Hines Baptist Church Cemetery near Midville, GA

Visitation will be in the Hines Baptist Church on Monday evening from 6-8 PM.

Pallbearers are  Grandsons: Dakota Marsh, Joseph Wilcher, Jason Wilcher, Jeremy Wilcher, Daniel Coleman and James Taylor.

Mrs. Wilcher was a native of Emanuel County, was employed by the Summertown Elementary School as Kitchen Manager, a member of the Hines Baptist Church and the Adult Sunday School Class.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Edd and Rosa Lee Alcott Hadden and brother, Andrew Bennett.

Survivors include:

Her Husband of 52 years: Ray Wilcher of Midville, GA

One Daughter: Tammy Marsh of Fernandina Beach, FL

Two Sons: Charles Wilcher (Ronda) of Canoochee, GA and Steven Ray Wilcher of Midville, GA

Two Half Sisters: Julia Hopkins of Gainesville, FL and Ora Lee Odom of Swainsboro, GA

One Brother: Roy Hadden of Jesup, GA

Nine Grandchildren and Thirteen Great-Grandchildren

Mr Ray, Steve, Tammy, Charles, and Family, I am so sorry for your loss. Miss Polly was in my life at an early age at Summertown. She always treated me as well as other students as hers. God Speed and I will keep you all in my prayers.
