Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Vicye Laverne Watkins, age 86, of Swainsboro, GA on Sunday, December 16, 2012 at the Emanuel County Nursing Home after an extended illness.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at 3:00 PM in the Peebles-Curry Memorial Chapel with Elder Tommy Rountree officiating and Wayne Page assisting.

Interment will be in the Swainsboro City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday,  December 19, 2012 from 1:00 PM till time of service.

Pallbearers are Dwayne Edwards, Dustin Watkins, Steven Edwards, Matt Edwards, Bill Hackle and Tyler Williamson.

Mrs. Watkins was born in Cairo, GA, a homemaker and an ordained minister.  She was a member of the Spring Hill Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband: G. E. Watkins, parents: Marvin and Dessie Edwards Mercer, sisters: Mary Malphus, Victoria Knaggs, Oppie Outz, Vonnie Hunter, and brother: Alfred Arnsdorff.

Survivors include:

Two Brothers-in-Law:  Glen Watkins (Tammy) of Swainsboro, GA, Herbert Fort (Darlene) of Grovetown, GA

Numerous nieces and nephews
