Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mr. William Henry, Sr., age 73, of Swainsboro on Thursday, December 24, 2020 at his residence.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, December 28, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Peebles-Curry Memorial Chapel with Rev. Mark Hardin officiating and Rev. Jeremy Ikner to assist.

Interment will follow in the Eastbrook Cemetery and Mausoleum.

CDC social distancing guidelines will be observed and masks are encouraged for your safety and the health and well being of others.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening, December 27, 2020 from 5-7:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mr. Henry was the son of the late William Cecil and Tommie Wilson Henry. He worked with O.M.I., (Operations Management International), for twenty plus years and was a retired volunteer fireman with Swainsboro Fire Department. He was a member of the Lake Luck Civic Club for many years and a past member of the New Life Christian Fellowship Church. William enjoyed fishing, riding four-wheelers and any activities that involved being outdoors. He loved spending time and traveling with his family. William was a well known and extremely popular worker at the Swainsboro Emanuel County Recreation Department Concession stand. William was so friendly and likeable that his line at the stand was always the longest. People enjoyed his company and conversations. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Martha Henry; and a son, Christopher A. Henry.

Survivors Include:

His Wife of 50 years: Brenda Lawson Henry of Swainsboro, GA.

Daughters: Barbara Sheppard (Larry) of Rentz, GA and Melony Faulk (Cody) of Dublin, GA.

Sons: William Henry, Jr. (Morgan) of Statesboro, GA and Michael Henry (Michelle) of Bainbridge, GA.

Sisters: Jean Brinson (Jerry), Becky Maddox, Vickie Henry and Sherri Henry.

Grandchildren: Carissa Paul, Moriah Dunn, Makayla Sheppard, Caitlin Moore, Hunter Moore, Cameron Faulk, Tucker Faulk, Ashton Henry, Lauren Henry and Chris Henry.

Eight Great Grandchildren.
