Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mr. Bennett Caraway, Jr., age 73, of Swainsboro, GA, on Sunday, September 6, 2020, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at Peebles-Curry Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Lamar Kersey officiating and Rev. Cail Pressey assisting.

Interment will be in the Caraway Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 from 5:00-7:00 PM.

CDC social distancing guidelines will be observed and masks are encouraged for your safety and others

Pallbearers will be Michael Peek, Chuck Wimberly, Matt Braswell, Richard Mosley, Will Boatright, and Scotty Hall.

Mr. Caraway was born March 10, 1947 in Kite, Johnson County, GA to the late Bennett, Sr. and Frances Hall Caraway. He built homes and was the owner of BC Construction for 20 years. Mr. Caraway started Caraway Pawn Shop in 1993 where he was owner and operator. He loved working on his farm in his spare time. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Ruby Headrick Caraway, sons, Hunter Caraway and James Caraway, sister, Mamie Steptoe, brother, Harvey Caraway.

Survivors Include:

Sons: Jerry Anthony Caraway (Libby) of Swainsboro, GA and Darrell Lee Caraway (Michelle) of Kite, GA

Sisters: Mattie Bell Mason and Christine Durden both of Swainsboro, GA

Brother: Ben Caraway of Dublin, GA

Grandchildren: Ben Caraway, Clay Caraway, Cody Caraway, Brandon Oglesby, Austin Oglesby, Alexa Caraway, and Emerson Franklin

Numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family
