Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mr. Andrew J. Bennett Jr., age 70, of Midville, GA who died Sunday, January 31, 2010, at the Emanuel Medical Center after a brief illness.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church with Dr. Ray Freeman and Rev. Phil Wilson officiating.
Interment will be in the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Bennett will lie in state one hour prior to the service.
The family will receive friends at Durden-Hudson Funeral Home Tuesday, February 2 from 6-8 PM.
Pallbearers are Clint Rowland, Dan Johnson, Roscoe Lewis, Roger Johnson, Johnson Turner and Tim Johnson.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Jessie Owens and Dean Drake.
Mr. Bennett was a native of Emanuel County and retired as foreman from the Georgia State Department of Transportation. He was a member of the Woodmen of the World and the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. Mr. Bennett was preceded in death by his parents Andrew J and Rosa Lee Alcott Bennett.

One daughter and Son-In-Law: Melinda and Gary Rowland of Kite, GA.
One Son and Daughter-In-Law: Anthony and Nancy Bennett of Midville, GA.
Three Sisters: Polly Wilcher and Ora Lee Odom both of Midville, GA and Julia Hopkins of FL.
One Brother: Roy Hadden of Midville, GA.
Four Grandchildren: Clint Rowland, Jessica Bennett, Taylor Rowland and Erin Rowland.
Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements for the funeral of Mr. Andrew J. Bennett Jr. of Midville, GA.
