Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Frank Nasworthy, Sr., age 79, of Swainsboro, GA on Saturday, January 2, 2010, at the Community Hospice House in Vidalia, GA after an extended illness.
Funeral services are Tuesday, January 5th, at 2 PM, in the First Baptist Church of Swainsboro with Rev. Ray Jenkins and Dr. Robert Blankenship officiating.
Interment will be in the Eastbrook Cemetery.
The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service.
Pallbearers are Henry Curl, Sheriff Tyson Stephens, Cliff Jones, Mark Smith, Bobby Sasser and Dennis Duke.
Honorary Pallbearer will be Jay Youngblood.
The family will receive friends at Durden-Hudson Funeral Home Monday evening from
6 - 8 PM.
Mr. Nasworthy was a born in Toombs County but lived in Emanuel County most of his life. He was a veteran of the US Navy and retired from Suburban Propane Gas Company as Service Manager after 44 years of service. He was also retired from the Emanuel County Commissioners as Litter Control Officer and was a retired volunteer fireman with the Swainsboro Fire Department. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Swainsboro and a longtime member of the Double Eagle Hunting Club and a former Jaycee. He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther M. Nasworthy, Sr. and Thelma Dukes Nasworthy and his brother, Luther M. Nasworthy, Jr.
