Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Bertice Oglesby Roberts Hendley, age 92, of Canoochee, GA on Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at the Glendale Nursing Home in Wadley, GA after an extended illness.

 

Funeral services are Saturday, July 31^st, at 11 AM in the Union Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Terry Joiner and Rev. Tony Smith officiating.

 

Interment will be in the church cemetery.

 

Mrs. Hendley will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service.

 

Pallbearers are Timothy Woods, Adam Oglesby, Tom Oglesby, J. D. Oglesby, Jody Hatcher and Jeff Johnson.

 

Mrs. Hendley was a native of Emanuel County, a homemaker, and the oldest member of Union Grove United Methodist Church. She was a member of the United Methodist Women and the Eastern Star and was preceded in death by her husbands, Schley Roberts and Grady Hendley, her parents, Ed and Maude Wiggins Oglesby, brothers, Buddy Oglesby, J D Oglesby, Sr., Willie Oglesby, Marlow Oglesby and Franklin Oglesby and sisters, Pansy “Sis” Johnson, Thelma Lanier and Annie Wiggins.
