Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Bobby G. Caldwell, age 83, of Swainsboro, GA on Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at the Medical Center of Central GA in Macon, GA after an extended illness.
Funeral services will be Saturday, July 31st, at 11 AM in the Peebles-Curry Memorial Chapel with Rev. Clarence Thompson officiating.
Interment will be in the Swainsboro City Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Richard Daniels, Vaughn Riner, Lynn Cheatwood, John Tapley, Ronnie Womack and Jerry Howell.
The family will receive friends at Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors Saturday morning from 9 AM until service time.
Mr. Caldwell was born in Cohoma, Miss. He started in Cumberland County, NC with the Alcohol Beverage Control Unit. In 1961 he started with the Alcohol, Tobacco, Tax Unit as an ATF Agent in Macon, GA. He was transferred to Cornelia, GA as Resident Agent in Charge and in 1963 moved to Swainsboro as Supervisor with the ATF. In 1975, he was transferred to Falls Church, VA as Group Supervisor with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. He was later sent to Fayetteville, NC with the ATF as Resident Agent in Charge where he retired July 31, 1981. He then returned to Swainsboro where he was an avid golfer and outdoor cook and enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. Mr. Caldwell was preceded in death by his parents, P B and Clara Mae Bounds Caldwell and his son, Mike Caldwell.

Daughter-In-Law: Becky Caldwell of Palm Beach, FL
7 Grandchildren: Scott Moore, Mike and Christy Womack, Trent Womack, Amanda Braddy, Christie and Randall Pennington, Kelly Caldwell and Cam and Gina Caldwell
8 Great-Grandchildren
