Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Dorothy Brantley Garnto, age 90, of Kite, GA on Saturday, June 26, 2010, at the Emanuel Medical Center Nursing Home after an extended illness.
Funeral services are Tuesday, June 29th, at 11 AM in the Gumlog Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Mickey Harris and Rev. Allen Meeks officiating.
Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Garnto will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service.
Pallbearers are Lynn Brantley, Mike Brantley, Dale Brantley, Kevin Brantley,
Jon Dorminey, Dennis Davis, Wilbur Stephens and Bobby Davidson.
The family will receive friends at Durden-Hudson Funeral Home Monday evening from 6 – 8 PM.
Mrs. Garnto, a native of Kite, GA, was a retired sales clerk with Rebecca’s Ladies Shop and Dolores and Woody’s Shops and a homemaker. She had been a member of Gumlog Primitive Baptist Church for 79 years, making her the oldest living member and she was a member of the Kite Homemakers Club and the Johnson County Historical Society. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elder Henry Grady, Sr. and Linnie Lee Wheeler Brantley and her husband, Riley Morris Garnto.
Survivors include:
One Daughter: Delaine Maglioli of Swainsboro, GA
One Son: Mickey Garnto of Kite, GA
One Grandson: Ryan Garnto of Reidsville, GA
