Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mrs. Mary Ellen Almond Eley, age 81, of Twin City, GA who died on Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at home with her three daughters, after an extended illness.
Funeral services will be Saturday, June 26, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the Twin City First Baptist Church with Dr. William Perry of Statesboro officiating.
Interment will be in the Hebron Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery near Garfield, GA.
The family will receive friends at the Durden-Hudson Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6-8 PM.
Pallbeares are Austin Dooley, Adam Lynsky, Kyle Lynsky, Shane McLain, Tommy McBride, Robert H. Nalley II, Tim Almond, Danny Almond, Sam Coppage and Johnny Boatright.
Mrs. Eley had lived most of her adult life in Barnwell County, SC. She retired in 1981, from the Williston School District – 29, where she served as school nurse and secretary and Charter member of the Williston Rescue Squad. Mrs Eley was an active member of the Twin City First Baptist Church, Choir and Bereavement Committee until her illness. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Robert Rollie Eley,

Two Brothers: Charles Almond and John Almond (Janette Bell) all of Twin City, GA
Eight Grandchildren: Robert H. Nalley II (Meredith) of Greensboro, NC, Alex Monarch (Jillian) of Porland OR, Spc. Adam Lynsky, Georgia National Guard, of Savannah, GA, Kyle Lynsky,Berry College Rome, GA, Shane McLain of Orlando, FL, Shannon Carroca (Joe) and Austin Dooley of Myrtle Beach, SC, Jessica M. Dooley of Swainsboro, GA.
Six Great-Grandchildren: McKinzie, Brook and Robert H Nalley III of Greensboro, NC,
Lucas, Elizabeth and Annabelle Eley Carroca of Myrtle Beach, SC
Sisters/Brother-In-Law: Beverly E. Barnes (Jack) of LaPorte, IN, Barbara Eley of Cruso NC as well as several nieces and nephews.
