Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Emily R. Durden Jones, age 100, of Twin City, GA on Sunday, April 29, 2012 at the Emanuel Medical Center Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be Thursday, May 3rd, at 11 AM in the Antioch Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Kurt Bacon and Elder Lindy Webb officiating.
Interment will be held in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior the service.
Palllbearers are Julian Durden, Joseph T. Brown, Larry Durden, Kinny Dorsey, J. W. Gross and James Proctor.
Mrs. Jones was a native of Emanuel County, was a homemaker and employed by Twin City Manufacturing. She was a member of Antioch Primitive Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by husbands, James S. Tapio and Marvin F. Jones; her parents, Julian “Cicero” and Cora Reese Durden; two brothers, John R and Julian C Durden and a sister Lydia “Lettie” Byrd Durden.
Survivors include:
Daughter: Edna Charlotta Tapio Brown (Bobby) of Valrico, FL
Two Grandchildren: Angela B. Kasper (George) of Ormond Beach, FL and Joseph T. Brown (Gail) of Vero Beach, FL
One Great-Granddaughter: Heather C. Brown of Vero Beach, FL
One Nephew: Julian C. Durden (Paulette) of Riverdale, GA
One Niece: Diane Byrd (Gene) of Statesboro, GA
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Antioch Cemetery Care Fund, P O Box 29, Twin City, GA 30471.
