Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Gordon H. Patterson, age 78, of Canoochee, GA on Saturday, April 14, 2012, at his residence after an extended illness.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 18th, at 11 AM in the Canoochee Missionary Baptist Church in Canoochee, GA with Pastor Don James and Elder Tommy Rountree officiating.
Interment will be in the Old Canoochee Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. on Highway 80 E. near Swainsboro, GA.
Mr. Patterson will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service.
Pallbearers are Joel Reed, Eddie Sikes, Julian Adams, Jimmy Willis, Leroy Riddles and Clay Patrick.
Honorary Pallbearers are Darriel Lane, Julian Thigpen, Johnson Turner, Johnny Lane and Athen Walden.
The family will receive friends at Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 PM.
Mr. Patterson was born in Columbus, GA and was a US Army veteran. He was owner and operator of Canoochee Truck Sales, was a member of the Wilson-Williams Masonic Lodge # 351 in Phenix City, AL where he entered the craft June 21, 1955 and attended Canoochee Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Jetta Hanson Patterson.
