Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mr. Charles L. Mason, age 90, of Swainsboro, GA, on Thursday, April 12, 2018, at Carl Vinson VA Medical Center in Dublin, GA.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, April 15, 2018, at 4:00  PM in the Peebles-Curry Memorial Chapel with Rev. Franklin Sasser officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3:00 P.M. until time of service.

Interment will be in the Swainsboro City Cemetery.

Pallbearers are: Tim Mason, Stewart Mason, Cliff Mason, Bobby Mason, Jason Wiley, Freddie G. Mason, Jr., Eric Hammock, Kevin Tanner and Leonard Mason.

Mr. Mason was born August 3, 1927 in Kite, Johnson County, GA to the late Leonard and Myrtle Snell Mason.  He was a World War II Navy Veteran and retired as Captain from the Army National Guard.  Mr. Mason was a Farmer, and Insurance Agent; he  worked with the Child Support Recovery Unit; and  he was a Special Investigator for the DA Office, Middle Judicial Circuit.  Mr. Mason attended the University Of Georgia and was a member of the Swainsboro First United Methodist Church.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a Sister, Ann Mason Sumner; and three brothers, Fred G. Mason, James B. Mason and Joe L. Mason.

Survivors include:

His Wife:  Mrs. Robbie Tanner Mason of Swainsboro, GA

Two Sons:  Charles Edward “Chuck” Mason (Sandra) of Statesboro, GA and Shannon Jack Mason of Swainsboro, GA

One Sister:  Peggy Mason Price (Lloyd) of Covena, GA

One Brother:  Jack D. Mason (Ann) of Beach Island, SC

Two Grandchildren:  Chet Mason and Trevor Mason

Should friends desire, contributions may be made to the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center, Hospice Unit, in Dublin, GA, in memory of Mr. Mason.

My Deepest Sympathy to the Mason family, I'm so sorry to hear of Mr. Charles death. He was always so happy and friendly. I will always remember him smiling. You all are in my prayers .

So sorry for your loss. We will not be able to attend the services, since Dorothy is unable to travel and I cannot leave her alone to go by myself.
I have many, many fond memories of Charles. He was a true friend for many years.
