Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mr. Roy Stephen "Steve" Anderson Jr., age 84, on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at the Emanuel Medical Center.

Funeral services will be  Sunday, October 8, 2017 at 2:30 PM in the Twin City First Baptist Church with Rev. Max Rodgers officiating assisted by Rev. Franklin Sasser.

Interment will follow in the Coleman Family Cemetery, Twin City, GA with Elder Tommy Rountree officiating.

The family will receive friends Sunday, October 8, 2017 at Twin City First Baptist Church from 1:30 PM till time of service.

Mr. Anderson will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service.

Pallbearers are  Deacons of Twin City First Baptist Church.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Twin City Lions Club Members, ECI Class of 1952 and Sonny Trappnell.

Mr. Anderson was born January 14, 1933, in Lincolnton, GA, to the late Roy Stephen Sr. and Bonnie New Anderson and lived most of his life in Twin City, GA.  He was a 1952 graduate of Emanuel  County Institute (ECI) and was owner/ operator of Anderson's Gulf Services from 1969-2012.  Mr. Anderson, being a humble Christian servant, was a member of Twin City First Baptist Church, Baptist Brotherhood serving  as secretary/treasure for 14 years, and also a member of the Twin City Lions Club.  Working was one of his favorite pastimes along with spending time with special family, friend and traveling. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved sister, Dr. Bonnie Anderson Bray.

Survivors include:

Special Family: Sarah and Alexander Clay Jr. of Twin City, GA, Melinda and Greg Johnson of Swainsboro, GA and Suzette and Neil Clay of Canoochee, GA

Cousins: Edith Brown Dekel and Family of Savannah, GA, Dr. Randall Brown and Family of Valdosta, GA, and Rusty Brown and Family of Swainsboro, GA

Special thanks to the Pruitt Health Hospice, Christi Womack, and the nursing staff of Emanuel Medical Center for your kind and loving care expressed to Mr. Anderson during his illness.

Knew Steve as a fellow member of Twin City First Baptist Church, Sunday School and fellow Twin City Lions Club member also Daddy and I would go to his place of business and enjoy those delicious Milk Shakes. Steve will certainly be missed in the community.
