Free at Last My Friend! Free, at last, from all the pain and travail of your final illness. You are in a place of peace and blessed comfort …and how I have enjoyed our email conversations of the past few years…over long distance……all the rehashing of our younger days at Swainsboro High School…of all the joys, all the personalities, and the challenges of being a part of the High School Class of 1965 with all its accomplishments both athletic, scholastic, and literary. And, while our paths diverged after those teenaged years and we each moved on to building a life and building a family…my memories of you will always center around your accomplishments on the stage – perfectly cast as the incorrigible “Bloody Mary” in the great musical South Pacific - that magnificent and audacious production – which few high schools can ever dream of pulling off, and the preparation for which occupied the entire Spring term of our senior year … and your pivotal role – perhaps more than any other character portrayal – helping us all to bring those three performances in May to fruition and to such acclaim. My memory of you shall always be of those nights with you at center stage …beneath the lights…with the audience enthralled…and yours to command …and your role as a much older woman…far beyond your 17 years….dreaming of an island far away …mystical…and yet within reach, it would seem, of us mere mortals. I trust you are there now…and my prayers are for your two daughters and your grandchildren … as they have had to let you go. But, the Show must go on!

I am so sorry to hear of Mrs Betty's passing. She was such a sweet soul. She worked with my late father, Harry Bunn, and kept him straight as much as possible! He thought so much of her and I know he treasured her friendship. Prayers for your family as you move forward.
