Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mr. Albry Olen Flanders, age 95, of Swainsboro, GA who died, Thursday, October 22, 2009, at the Scott Health and Rehabilitation Center after an extended illness.
 
Funeral services will be Monday, October 26, 2009 at 11:00 AM in the Swainsboro First Baptist Church with the Dr. Robert Blankenship officiating.
 
Interment will be in the Forest Lawn Cemetery near Dellwood.
 
The family will receive friends at Durden-Hudson Funeral Home Sunday, October 25, 2009 from 6-8 PM.
 
Pallbearers are Jack Flanders Jr., Patrick Appleby, David Way, John Wilder Page, Mark Flanders, Jimmy Flanders, Mike Lenoard and Dexter Lovins.
 
Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Swainsboro Kiwanis Club and members of the Swainsboro First Baptist Church Progressive Fellowship Sunday School Class.
 
Mr. Flanders was a native of Emanuel County. He retired as Owner of A. O. Flanders Construction Company after 35 years. He was a member of the Swainsboro Kiwanis Club from 1958 – 2009, serving as President in 1975, Chairperson of the Pine Tree Festival in 1976, and numerous other committees. Mr. Flanders was Kiwanian of the Year 1988-1989, awarded the Prestigious George F. Hixson Award by Kiwanis International in 2000 and was Grand Marshall of the Swainsboro Pine Tree Festival in 2005.
 
Mr. Flanders was a life long member of the Swainsboro First Baptist Church and its Progressive Fellowship Sunday School Class. He was preceded in death by his parents Ridge M. and Beulah Virginia Ricks Flanders.
 
Survivors include:
 
His Wife of 69 years: Ruby Claxton Flanders of Swainsboro, GA.
 
Three Sons and Daughters-In-Law: James Albry and Sandy Cobb Flanders of Charlotte, NC, Jack Benson and Mavis Lovins Flanders of Statesboro, GA and David Lamar and Nancy Way Flanders of Swainsboro, GA.
 
One Sister: Betty Flanders Morgan of Macon, GA.
 
Six Grandchildren: James Albry Flanders Jr., Marcus Cobb Flanders, Jack Benson Flanders Jr., Casey Flanders Jones, Catheryn Brooke Flanders Appleby and Christyn Hope Flanders.
 
Ten Great-Grandchildren
 
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church, 240 W Main St., Swainsboro, GA 30401.
